We Don't Just Build Trailers

You may think of us as a trailer manufacturer, but you would only be partially correct. For this project, we were hired to design and build a complete portable generator set suitable for rental. This 400 KW CAT generator set was our starting point.
We already make a family of equipment chassis that are shown on our website. We used our pre-engineered equipment chassis #6 as the starting point (shown below).
Inside the channels of the trailer, we manufactured a custom 250 gallon double wall fuel tank, and placed the fittings in the optimum location for ease of hook up, and for filling.
The 13 gauge metal enclosure begins with a complete wraparound base panel system. This allows us to raise doors above the fenders to eliminate interference when opening. Wall and corner panels then attach to the base.
Both ends of the enclosure are louvered panels that are designed to keep air flowing to cool the generator. The rear louver doubles as a door allowing access to the controls. All parts are painted or powder coated at the customer option. Our large powder coat oven allows us to coat up to 30 foot long panels.
The large 30” diameter “residential” muffler required that we make a special support and band/strap to hold it securely to the enclosure. Sound deadening foam was cut to size and applied to the inside of the enclosure panels to keep the generator quiet.
The closed cell non-absorbent foam is a generous 1-1/2” thick, and is applied to all inside surfaces of the generator set using a special adhesive.
Our in house CAD drawings and CNC laser cutting capabilities allow us to make consistent parts of high quality. Further, we have the flexibility to give you what you want by adapting our design to meet yours.
All hardware such as door latches and hinges are made of stainless steel. The latch rotates and draws in to hold the doors shut during transport and while running. This CAT generator has a great home.
